Labs Normal? Still Have Symptoms?

Improve Your Thyroid Naturally

Thyroid medication is one of the most commonly prescribed medications.  People who experience weight gain, fatigue, poor sleep, constipation, depression, irritability, hair loss are told their thyroid labs are "normal".  The most common test doctors run is a TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone).  This is what they will base their dosage of thyroid replacement on.  When the test is normal, you may have been told nothing is wrong.  There are many different reasons for an abnormal TSH, many of which may not need thyroid replacement hormone.

The thyroid is very complex and affects just about every cell in your body.  Your liver, kidney, adrenal, gut, and gut bacteria all play a role in making sure your thyroid functions optimally.  Aside from getting more accurate testing of your thyroid in addition to TSH, these other organ systems must also be balanced in order for you to succeed.  About 90% of thyroid disorders are autoimmune (Hashimotos), and the immune system must be addressed in these cases.  Where is 80% of your immune system?  Your gut!

If you continue to experience thyroid symptoms but are told your labs are normal, something is not being addressed.
